Adjusting the View Radius on Your Hytale Server

The view radius controls how far the world is loaded around players. Lowering
it is one of the most effective ways to reduce server load; raising it shows more
at once but costs more performance.

It's stored as MaxViewRadius in the server's config.json.

Steps

Stop the server (edits to config.json while running are overwritten on
shutdown).

Open the File Manager and open config.json in the server root.

Find the MaxViewRadius line and set your value:

"MaxViewRadius": 13

Default: 13

Range: 3–32

Lower = better performance; higher = more loaded world (heavier).

Save, then start the server.

Notes

Performance first: if the server is lagging, lowering this is usually the
single biggest win — try 8–10.

Keep the JSON valid — don't remove the quotes or the comma, or the server may
fail to read its config.

If MaxViewRadius isn't in the file yet, start the server once so it generates a
full default config.json, then edit it.
