How to Add an Admin to Your Vintage Story Server

Vintage Story uses a role system for permissions. Granting someone the admin
role gives them access to admin commands. The quickest way is the /op command,
which is just a shortcut for assigning the admin role.

Grant Admin#

1.
Log in to the FSH Panel.
2.
Make sure the server is running, then open the Console tab.
3.
Run (in the panel Console, no slash):
op <username>
Replace <username> with the exact player name.
op <username> is equivalent to player <username> role admin.
Doing it in-game instead? Authenticate first with
/AdminPassword <your password>, then use the slash form: /op <username>.

Remove Admin#

Set the player back to a normal role:
player <username> role <rolename>
Run role (or /role in-game) to list the available roles and pick the default
player role. There is also a deop-style workflow via the role system if your
server defines one.

Notes#

Exact names matter — role assignments are by player name, so spelling and
capitalization must match.
Two privilege tiers exist: admin (standard admin) and sysadmin (higher).
/op grants admin, which is enough for normal server management.
Use /role <rolename> privilege [grant|revoke] <privilege> if you want to
fine-tune what a role can do.
